This email is a little bit longer than usual, John, but it really would mean the world to me if you’re able to take a minute or two to read it.
We’re coming to the point in the year where fundraising starts to take a dip as more and more people close their laptops to enjoy summer.
I hope you’ll be able to do the same, John, but I’m also hoping to get your help with something before you do.
Our FEC filing deadline is on Monday, and I’d like to explain to you why hitting our $20,000 goal before then is so important. But if you’re in a rush, just know that it would be a huge help if you could chip in a quick grassroots donation of any amount before closing this email.
First, let me get one thing out of the way:
The sky is not falling.
Coming up short of our $20,000 goal won’t doom our chances to hold KY-03 or flip the House next year, but the reality is that it will definitely make things more challenging.
Between protests and public pressure, Democrats are fighting back. We’ve got Trump and his enablers on their heels, but we can’t afford to give an inch now.
That’s why hitting our $20,000 goal would go a long way toward achieving our goals for 2025 and 2026:
It would help us keep KY-03 blue, because every seat we lose next year is one more red seat we’ve got to flip to retake the House majority.
As DCCC Recruitment Co-Chair, it would help us recruit and elevate the next generation of Democratic candidates.
It would help us grow our grassroots network of supporters throughout Kentucky and beyond, from field operations to our digital program.
It would help us continue to organize and mobilize in ways that hold the administration accountable, and make sure they pay a political price for their disastrous agenda.
I need your help to do all that and more, John, and the first step toward enacting this action plan is knocking our $20,000 goal out of the park. So can I count on you to chip in $25 (or whatever you can) before Monday’s filing deadline?
Together, we can continue pushing back against Trump, the GOP, and their disastrous, dangerous policies.
Thank you,
Morgan McGarvey
