Democrat,
Three years ago this week, the Supreme Court packed with Trump-appointed judges overturned Roe v Wade, setting back reproductive rights and causing harmful health outcomes for women across this country. As we mark the anniversary of the Dobbs decision, we're reminded of the stakes of the upcoming gubernatorial election. New Jersey voters have a choice between Mikie Sherrill, a known fighter for reproductive freedoms, and Jack Ciattarelli, a MAGA loyalist who says there’s nothing he disagrees with President Trump on. What is Trump currently pursuing? A federal budget that defunds Planned Parenthood and further restricts access to abortion health care. Now is the moment to stay vigilant and do the early work to ensure Mikie is our next governor to protect reproductive rights in our state.
This week, we’re introducing some exciting updates to our Chairman’s Corner. We’ll be highlighting both the hard work of our incredible gubernatorial nominee Mikie Sherrill and putting a spotlight on the out-of-touch, dangerous agenda of Republican nominee Jack Ciattarelli.
Finally, this Friday marks the Islamic New Year, a time for reflection, celebration, and renewal for millions around the world. I want to wish our Muslim community a peaceful and prosperous year ahead.
— Chairman LeRoy J. Jones, Jr.

This week on the third anniversary of the Dobbs decision, Mikie Sherrill reaffirmed her commitment to protecting reproductive freedom as our next governor. Mikie has always been a fighter for reproductive rights and stood firm against ongoing attacks to access. In Congress, she supported the Women’s Health Protection Act and the Convenient Contraception Act, while also tackling the far-right’s court strategies with her End Judge Shopping Act.
Her strong record has even earned her the endorsement of the Planned Parenthood Action Fund this week, underscoring her track record in defending reproductive freedom.

Claim:
“And certainly [Donald Trump’s] greatest legacy was the appointment of all the conservative judges to the federal bench, including the Supreme Court.” - Jack Ciattarelli
The Truth:
This is nothing to be proud of. Since Trump appointed three Supreme Court justices and over two hundred federal judges during his first term, they’ve handed down numerous decisions that have resulted in devastating consequences, including the overturning of Roe v Wade.
Impact on New Jersey:
Jack wants to use the Trump playbook in New Jersey and appoint ultra-conservative, anti-choice justices to our state Supreme Court, who are ready to gut our rights and protections. This is what is at stake in this election and why it’s critical that Jack is defeated come November.

Over 300,000 New Jerseyans could lose their health care if Donald Trump gets his way. This will end up costing the state $3.6 billion annually. Jack Ciattarelli isn’t just ignoring this—he is DEFENDING Trump’s harmful cuts. Despite reports confirming the Medicaid cuts, Ciattarelli continues to deny that these cuts will happen, and dismisses our concerns as “lies.” By aligning himself with Trump on every issue, Ciattarelli is putting political loyalty over the needs of New Jersey residents, showing he’ll defend Trump at the expense of the health of our residents.

Senator Kim Stands Up for Immigrants
Senator Andy Kim is taking a stand for New Jersey’s immigrant community, joining the effort to pass the SECURE Act and providing support to those who fear losing their Temporary Protected Status (TPS). As Senator Kim notes, TPS recipients are critical to our communities and the state’s economic growth and should be protected. We will always stand with our immigrant community.
Rep. Pallone Tells RFK Jr. “The science is not on your side.”
Congressman Frank Pallone is taking action against the dangerous, pseudo-science agenda being pushed by HHS Secretary RFK, Jr. Our leaders are holding the line against the forces that seek to undermine science and jeopardize our health and well-being.

Your voice is needed. Whether it’s protecting immigrant rights, standing up for scientific integrity, or defending reproductive freedom, our Democratic lawmakers have been hard at work. But now it is time for all of us to join them in this fight. New Jersey may be seen as a blue state, but it is crucial we keep it that way. The progress we’ve made shouldn’t be a reason to stay home—it should inspire us to keep pushing forward and demanding for more. Join us at one of our upcoming events.
