President Donald Trump made good on his campaign promise to prioritize religious freedom in his second term by officially launching the Religious Liberty Commission.

Last Monday, the group held its first meeting at the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C.

The panel includes familiar and trustworthy names – Reverend Franklin Graham, Texas Lt. Governor Dan Patrick, Dr. Ben Carson, New York Archbishop Cardinal Timothy Dolan, Bishop Robert Barron, Kristen Waggoner, Kelly Shackelford, Ryan Anderson, Prestonwood Baptist Church pastor Jack Graham and pro-life stalwart Alveda King.

Timothy Goeglein, Focus on the Family’s vice president of external affairs, attended the morning gathering.

“We at Focus on the Family were so honored to be part of this first presidential hearing on religious liberty, and the matrix of scholars, attorneys, public officials, and first amendment experts was a powerful testament to the foundational importance of the right of conscience in the 21st century American public square,” reflected Goeglein.

According to the White House, the commission will “safeguard and promote America’s founding principle of religious freedom.”

The newly formed entity comes in the wake of a litany of anti-Christian actions punishing a broad spectrum of believers over the course of the last four years.

The FBI announced the arrest of hundreds of alleged child abusers and the rescue of over 100 children in a recent law enforcement operation in Texas.

Operation Soteria Shield, a month-long collaborative enforcement effort conducted in April 2025, aimed to rescue children from online sexual exploitation and bring perpetrators to justice, the FBI revealed on June 10.

The North Texas Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and FBI Dallas’ North Texas Child Exploitation Task Force announced the operation’s conclusion, which resulted in:

• 109 children rescued.
• 244 offenders arrested.
• Almost 400 total charges at the federal and state level.

“We had a common goal, which was to rescue children from abuse and exploitation,” said FBI Dallas Special Agent in Charge R. Joseph Rothrock in a statement.

“This was not an easy operation, but a necessary one. The FBI and our law enforcement partners will continue to protect the children in our communities, and we will hold child predators accountable for their crimes.”

The operation was run in conjunction with the National Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and was jointly managed by the FBI Dallas Division, Dallas Police Department, Plano Police Department, Wylie Police Department, and Garland Police Department.

A recent international poll shows more people in the United Kingdom recognize a line from the Lord’s Prayer than from Star Wars, Shakespeare, Dickens or Churchill.

In May, research firm Savanta asked over 2,000 UK adults to match seven famous lines from literature, history and pop culture to their sources from a multiple-choice list.

Over 80% of respondents correctly attributed, “Give us this day our daily bread,” to the Lord’s Prayer found in Matthew 6. The second-most-recognized line, “May the force be with you,” was matched by 79.9% of participants to the Star Wars film series.

The five other lines and their correct match rates include:

• “To be or not to be.”— Hamlet by William Shakespeare (73%)
• “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.”— A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens (39%)
• “Happy and glorious / Long to reign over us.” — UK National Anthem, “God Save The King” (63%)
• “You’ll never walk alone.” — Gerry and the Pacemakers, Anthem of Liverpool FC (58%)
• “Never in the field of human conflict, was so much owed by so many to so few.” — Winston Churchill (61%)

Participants were also asked which line from the Lord’s Prayer was most meaningful to them. Matthew 6:12, “And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us,” scored highest — resonating with 43% of respondents, 56% of those identifying as Christians.

Corporations are providing less support for LGBT pride month this year, leading some activist groups to scale down their celebrations of sexual sin and brokenness.

But parents should still be mindful; it’s very easy for families to stumble across LGBT parades, events and merchandise. Parents will want to plan ahead to protect their children as much as possible from exposure to sexually confusing, inappropriate subjects.

One study, from Gravity Research’s “Pride Pulse Poll,” surveyed leaders across Fortune 500 and Global 1000 companies about their anticipated corporate involvement in pride month. The survey found:

• Scaled-Back Visibility: 39% of companies plan to reduce Pride-related engagement in 2025. Notably, no respondents reported plans to increase engagement.
• Quiet Internal Continuity: Despite pullbacks in external-facing efforts like event sponsorships and social media branding, internal initiatives — such as workplace activities or partnerships with employee resource groups – remain largely intact.
• Backlash Planning in Progress: 65% of respondents say they are actively preparing for backlash, crafting reactive communication strategies and training HR teams to manage internal sentiment.

The Advocate, an LGBT activist magazine, noted one of the reasons for this reduced support was that companies were abandoning “diversity, equity and inclusion” programs. As this occurred, “Many also axed their commitments to LGBTQ+ Pride Month.”
