My name is Claire Russo and I’m running for Congress in Virginia’s fifth U.S. Congressional District. I’m a Marine, a mom, a Democrat, and a fighter. I hope you’ll take a few minutes to hear my story—and then consider making a contribution of any amount you can afford to my campaign.

When I was just six years old, I hung an American flag over my bed. I tagged along to sporting events with my cousins just to hear the national anthem. By the time I was a teenager, I knew I wanted to be a Marine—to defend the country I loved so much.

Now, I’m running for Congress because I’ve spent my life serving our country; and, as a patriot, it’s never been more important to speak truth to power. I’m honored to have Senator Gillibrand’s endorsement in this fight.

We desperately need more leaders who understand what’s at stake for American families. After 16 years of active duty service, my husband Josh and I still worry about how to pay our medical bills for our family of five. My daughter worries about the weapons of war my husband carries on the battlefield coming into her classroom. These issues and more are on the ballot, while too many politicians put partisan politics ahead of what’s best for the country.

My primary election is next week—June 23—and I’m hoping I can count on you to support my campaign in this home stretch.
