Dear friend,

As we approach the critical deadline to our fundraising goal, we wanted to share the story of Hiba (name changed for safety), a Mercy Corps team member who, along with millions of Sudanese people, has been forced to flee her home.

Originally from the eastern part of Sudan, violence in her hometown forced her to move further east to remain safe and continue working. But shortly after, her new location was under attack and she was forced to flee again.

While she is still with her husband, she is separated from the rest of her family, who sought refuge in neighboring countries. She is afraid she’ll never see her parents again.

People like Hiba and millions of others who were traumatized by violence, hunger, and separation need your support today.
Beyond the psychological trauma from displacement and separation, Hiba is also scarred by the realities of fellow Sudanese people around her. "We live in constant fear, without safety, and without basic necessities of life. We just want to live like human beings," says Hiba.

One can never underestimate how just a few dollars can create a powerful difference in the lives of families. Your support can help people like Hiba, who are facing the tough challenges of hunger to displacement to poverty, and mental health, receive cash aid.

There are only a few days left to make a difference for people facing conflict, disaster, hunger, and displacement in 40+ countries.

Please make your first gift for families who are living through the world’s hardest challenges.
