Dear john,
As the Senate continues negotiating the Republican budget bill, nonpartisan polls released this month continue to show how unpopular the legislation is among Americans. And I'm not surprised.
It's what happens when you slash hundreds of billions of dollars from Medicaid, kick millions off their health care, and institute the largest transfer of wealth from the poor and middle class to the ultra-wealthy.
In such a partisan time, it's staggering to see how unpopular something is across Democrats, Republicans, and Independents.
Below is a recap:
A Fox News poll found that only 38% of registered voters support it.
A KFF poll found that only 35% of adults have a favorable view of the legislation.
The Pew Research Center found that only 29% of adults favor the bill.
A Quinnipiac University poll found that only 27% of registered voters support the bill.
