Hey John,
Yesterday marked the 155th anniversary of Juneteenth--June 19, 1865 also known as Freedom Day--when enslaved Black people in Galveston, Texas got word from Union Army General Gordon Granger that they were finally freed.
It is my hope that you honor the celebration of the abolition of slavery in this country while also recognizing the pure resilience and determination shown by Black people to this day, who 155 years later continue to fight against racist, systemic oppression in hopes of true equality.
To celebrate the legacy and vision for freed Black people every day, become a Color Of Change PAC sustainer with a monthly gift of $5 or more today.
A monthly gift is the most efficient way to support Color Of Change PAC’s long-term efforts to fight for equality for Black people by building independent Black political power, engaging Black voters, electing candidates who share our values, and holding them accountable to our communities.
I'd Rather Make a One-Time Donation
John, over the past few months we’ve seen unarmed Black people killed by police, we’ve seen major voter suppression tactics in action, we’ve seen Covid-19 disproportionately kill Black people and so much more.
When you start a monthly gift today, know that your monthly support enables my team and me to put up a fight against all of these racial injustices that Black folks must face each day. Whether it’s endorsing a District Attorney that will hold police officers accountable for their actions or sending hundreds of thousands of text reminders to Black folks to register to vote, trust that Color Of Change PAC is putting in the work each and every day to get Black people closer to true equality.
Thank you for all of your support.
Until Justice is Real,
Arisha, Jenni, Drew, Charles, Tammi, Cristel, Alex, Scotty, Daniel, and the Color Of Change PAC team
