Donald Trump is trying hard to court votes from Americans of color -- but the racist language that keeps spilling out of his mouth is severely undercutting his message.
The president tried to use the economy as an argument for why voters of color should support him in November, saying that a strong economy is the “greatest thing that can happen for race relations.”
Whether or not that’s true, the 15% unemployment rate among Asian Americans seems to make it a moot point. But the grossest offense of all may be the bigoted speech Trump couldn’t help himself from using even in the middle of an appeal to racial minorities -- with the president blaming “the China plague” for running the economy into the ground.
