Protect Fair and Accessible Elections!
Dear John,
The National Disability Rights Network is asking you to take action by 5:00 pm ET tonight before an important meeting about voting technology.
The U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC) is holding a virtual meeting to talk about changes to the Voluntary Voting System Guidelines (VVSG). These guidelines help make sure voting systems are secure, reliable, and accessible.
By law, and under EAC rules, the update process must include input from key groups—especially people with disabilities and experts in accessibility. But this time, the draft version was not created the right way. It was released late and without clear information. That means people with important knowledge and experience may not have enough time or opportunity to share their thoughts.
We need your help to make sure the voices of people with disabilities are heard.
Click below to send a message to the EAC urging them to assert its independence and follow its mandated processes before considering any changes. You can use a message we have created or send your own. Comments must be submitted by 5:00 pm ET tonight!
