Last week, a national official parachuted into Los Angeles to stir conflict, spread lies, and insult a U.S. Senator by name. He spent four hours in a city he doesn’t understand—and left behind fear and confusion.

 
Mayor Lucas has a different approach.
 
While others provoke division, he’s here in Kansas City working, every single day, with community leaders, law enforcement, and local families to build trust and keep people safe.
 
We’re investing in mental health co-response teams. We’re increasing support for working parents. And we’re expanding job opportunities for families who’ve been left out for far too long.
 
You don’t keep communities safe by sending in troops. You keep them safe by showing up.
