The Commissioner of Education and Dallas ISD were served with a lawsuit to stop them from enforcing the 10 Commandments law. |
A little known Dallas organization called Next Generation Action Network has filed a lawsuit against the new Texas Ten Commandments law this week. The main plaintiff suing is Dominque Alexander, who is listed as the founder of Next Generation Action Network on the organization’s website, an organization that recently supported the “No Kings” protests.

Jonathan Saenz, President and Attorney for Texas Values, released the following statement:
“This amateur hour lawsuit, by some organization that seems to focus a lot on chasing headlines, has no chance of success in Texas. I’m wondering if even the ACLU was aware of this lawsuit and how they feel about some other group stealing their thunder.” Texas Values was the main state organization that advocated and rallied for support of the Texas 10 Commandments law passage.
The new law was signed by Governor Greg Abbott last week, Saturday, June 21. Read more about this issue on our website. |

Victory! Important Parental Rights Priority Bills Signed by Governor Abbott into Law! |
Over the weekend, Governor Greg Abbott signed Texas Values priority bills, SB 12 and SB 13, into law. SB 12 by Senator Brandon Creighton, also known as the “Parental Bill of Rights,” is a comprehensive bill increasing parental involvement and control in their children’s education in public schools, including banning instruction and guidance on harmful sexual orientation and gender identity concepts.
Jonathan Covey, Policy Director for Texas Values said:
“The Texas Parental Bill of Rights draws a clear line in the sand: activists and bureaucrats do not control the education of students – parents do. For too long, politicized gender ideology has influenced minds and discussions in the classrooms of Texas – but that is coming to an end. Governor Abbott’s signature on SB 12 ensures that we put parents in the driver’s seat and actual learning as the goal of public education.”
SB 13 by Senator Paxton strengthens parental oversight in public school libraries to protect against student access to pornographic books and materials, and establishes local school library advisory councils to provide recommendations on library material standards and policies. Mary Elizabeth Castle, Director of Government Relations for Texas Values said:
“Governor Abbott signing SB 13 into law is a huge win for parents who seem to face an unending problem of pornographic books in kid’s school libraries. This law will provide clearer guidelines for schools to follow when selecting and removing library books. We are confident that the law will be upheld in Court.”

Special Guest Representative Candy Noble discusses the Passing of SB 10 & SB 33 with Megan Benton, Strategic Policy Associate for Texas Values! |
"The 10 Commandments, and the Bible are foundational to both our education system as a nation and our judicial system.
It’s hard to understand where we came from without that foundation, you can’t move a house off it’s foundation and expect that house to be as strong as it was. Centuries of Americans saw the 10 commandments in their education...it makes me sad that people in your generation have never seen prayer in schools, or the Bible in schools.
There were 2 cities in Texas, Austin & San Antonio, that set up grants to pay for out of state abortions. We just closed that loop whole up. It’s time for us to make sure that Texas women know that a baby is the gift from the Lord. Our tax dollars are not going to go to ending that innocent life." ~ Rep. Candy Noble

Your Texas Values team was at the Texas Legislature every single day to make sure that your faith, family, and freedom were protected. The theme of the session was going ‘Back to Basics’ with major wins for parental rights, education, and religious freedom. In addition to speaking with legislators and testifying around 150 times on legislation, we had two very successful events where we engaged people on very important issues.
Throughout session, we distributed over 3,000 legislative guides to help people navigate their way around the Texas Capitol while the Church Ambassador Network of Texas, distributed personalized Bibles to Legislators. |
