1. Diving in with the
Daily Caller |
ClearPath CEO Jeremy Harrell and Daily Caller CEO Elijah
Moorman spoke about the importance of preserving key energy tax
incentives and expanding electricity generation to meet future demand
created by AI and data centers. |
ClearPath Action partnered with the
Daily Caller on “Daily Caller Live: The Future of American
Energy.”
The conversation outlined three
steps for achieving American energy dominance:
- Preserve
key energy tax credits to scale innovation;
- Modernize permitting to let America build; and
- Sell
more American energy globally to counter China.
What’s clear: We
need more markets over mandates and innovation over regulation. These
tools will meet the President's goals of producing more electricity
and lowering costs.

full Daily Caller Live event.
The U.S. Senate may vote on the
“One Big Beautiful Bill” this weekend and the House may take it back
up next week. The latest draft includes:
- Full
transferability across tax credits to ensure efficient use of taxpayer
resources, particularly for innovators;
- Retaining key incentives for new American energy production like
advanced nuclear, geothermal, hydropower and storage through
2035;
- Creating
parity in the 45Q carbon sequestration credit for all types of carbon
use and storage coming from carbon capture and direct air capture
products; and
- Offering
additional support for domestic critical minerals production and
bolster the clean energy supply chain through 2030.
Policymakers continue to debate key
provisions, such as the phase-down timelines for clean electricity
incentives and eligibility at the “commencement of construction.”
Additionally, they continue work to provide a realistic path for American energy producers to meet
growing demand and shift supply chains away from foreign entities of
concern, like China.
Predictability for investors and
developers is critical to ensuring the “Big, Beautiful Bill”
accelerates American energy dominance and furthers American
manufacturing competitiveness. A stronger final bill combined with the
growing bipartisan momentum for permit reform is a recipe to let
America build.

2. NEW Episode:
Reshaping America’s energy future |
ClearPath CEO Jeremy Harrell
appeared on the MCJ Inevitable Podcast, “How the Budget Bill Could
Reshape America’s Energy Future,” alongside ClearPath alum Spencer
Nelson of Form Energy and Vikrum Aiyer of Heirloom.
What he said we need:
- Clean
energy tax credits to protect and promote American energy innovation
and manufacturing; and
- Certainty to maintain investment momentum for American energy
innovation.
What’s clear: “Providing incentives to drive new investment and new generation
regardless of technology is going to be important… we may have to
build the size of today's Texas grid over the next decade to meet
rising demand in this country,” said Harrell.

3. Governor Cox Leads
Western Governors to energy superabundance |
Governor Cox (R-UT), new chair of
the Western Governors’ Association, unveiled his chairman’s initiative
for 2025-2026 entitled, “Energy
Superabundance.”
The yearlong initiative will be focused on:
- Unlocking nuclear power;
- Building
transmission capacity;
- Advancing energy storage;
- Modernizing the grid; and
- Cutting
red tape.
What they are saying: “It’s been nearly 50 years since we’ve had a moment like this:
surging demand, available capital, and the political will to build.
It’s time for a new era of American energy abundance,” said
Utah Governor Spencer Cox.

ClearPath’s Matt Mailloux sat down with Deseret
News to discuss
how the Energy Superabundance initiative can promote innovative energy
technologies and improve the federal permitting process.

4. C.O.B. Tuesday: Niko
on nuclear |
On last week’s episode of Veriten’s
C.O.B. Tuesday podcast, ClearPath’s Niko McMurray and CATF’s Patrick
White discuss how new nuclear energy can make it through the licensing
and regulatory process to help meet the President’s goal of 10 GW of
new nuclear energy by 2030.
What’s clear: They
also discuss a ClearPath, CATF, and Veriten letter
to the NRC that discusses a novel approach to
licensing small reactors.

5. DOE announces plan
for new test reactors by July 4, 2026 |
The Department of Energy (DOE)
announced a pilot
program that aims
to meet the bold goal set by President Trump’s executive orders
issued
last month to
build three non-commercial test reactors by July 4th, 2026, America’s
250th birthday. This initiative is part of a broader administration
effort to accelerate nuclear energy innovation and
deployment.
This pilot program will
allow:
- Private developers to build and
operate full-scale advanced nuclear test reactors authorized by the
DOE outside the national laboratory system;
- The DOE
to utilize Other Transaction Authority for contracting to expedite the
process and streamline regulatory requirements; and
- The
private sector to fully fund the projects, saving taxpayers
money.
What’s clear: The
Trump Administration continues to prioritize streamlining permitting,
accelerating commercialization and reshaping the U.S. nuclear
innovation pipeline.

6. Google and CTC
Global launch initiative for high-capacity
conductors |
Google and CTC Global are
partnering to expand the American grid and transmission capacity with
CTC Global’s innovative conductor technology. This initiative will
provide cost assistance, workforce development training, and technical
analysis to projects deploying CTC Global’s carbon composite core
conductors that support demand growth by:
- Doubling
the capacity of a transmission line and reducing line
losses;
- Deploying at a fraction of the cost and time of traditional
infrastructure development, and
- Reducing
line sag, which improves line safety.
What’s clear: Transmission capacity must expand rapidly to meet demand
growth. Increasing the scale of
deployment, bolstering the domestic manufacturing base, and enhancing
industry familiarity with the technology can accelerate broader
adoption and significantly increase the transmission system's
capacity, all while creating more efficient power transmission. Google
and CTC Global will accept RFI responses through July 14, with a full
RFP to follow.
