Hi friend, it’s Ben.
Before I step down as chair of WisDems, I want to take a few moments to say thank you.
Before I was elected WisDems party chair in 2019, we had just had a heartbreaking loss in the Supreme Court race in April. It was by less than half a percentage point, but the GOP had resources we just didn't have in the final push. Part of my goal as chair was to never lose that kind of fight again.
Since then, we've won 10 out of the last 13 statewide elections. Sometimes it was a very tight race. Sometimes it was a blowout. But we haven't lost by a blowout anytime in the last six years, and we have gone from being a state that was to the right of the national popular vote to being to the left of the national popular vote.
This is thanks to the work of thousands of partners and allies, national friends of Wisconsin, Wisconsinites from all over the state, our candidates, our volunteers, and, of course, hundreds of thousands of donors like you.
We’ve all done this together, and we’re still in the middle of it. Even after my tenure, WisDems will continue its commitment to constant innovation, game-changing communication, and grassroots organizing.
That’s why I’m asking you to help make the FINAL end-of-quarter fundraising push of my tenure as WisDems Chair one for the record books. Will you help fuel WisDems’ efforts and help us reach our quarterly fundraising goals by donating $25 right now? »

I'm stepping away because I know the WisDems team, with Devin Remiker as our amazing next chair, is ready to carry the torch and help Dems win victories up and down the ballot in 2026 and beyond. I feel like the right time to make a leadership change is when things are going well.
There really is no other state party in the country with a track record like WisDems. In a way, our success masks how hard politics are in Wisconsin for Democrats. There are actually more Wisconsinites who tell pollsters they're Republican than Democrats. Yet, we've won most of the elections in the last six years anyway, because we've turned out more Democrats, persuaded more independents, and convinced more Republicans to cross over.
With Devin Remicker at the helm, WisDems will continue the tireless work of turning out Democratic voters in all corners of Wisconsin. But to keep our operations running, you play a vital role. And if we turn in an astounding Q2 fundraising report in the midst of a major transition, we’ll show everyone that we’re not slowing down, and we’re not letting up. Will you join in the fight by donating $25 before the end of the month? »

As WisDems, we know these victories are not just ends unto themselves, but the way we can have the biggest impact on people's lives. By electing Democrats up and down the ballot, we help foster stronger public education, support workers’ rights to unionize, and work to expand health care for all, including reproductive care. As WisDems, we believe all Wisconsinites should have the same life opportunities that are not dictated by the color of their skin or the zip code in which they live. We share that belief that every person matters. Accomplishing these goals is how we measure our success.
I'm so grateful to have been the WisDem's chair, and grateful that we have come together around this critical work, but that work goes on after my tenure ends. The fight to preserve democracy in Wisconsin, and the country, is ongoing and year-round.
I will continue to do my part, as I know you will continue to do yours.
Thank you for a great six years.
With gratitude,
Ben Wikler
WisDems Chair
