Foodies Festival, the UK's most popular food and music festival, is here this weekend!
Didn't manage to get tickets for Glastonbury? Come to the three day 'Gastro Glastonbury' instead, where you will see top chefs cooking live, learn baking tips, and enjoy live music from Blue, The Wanted 2.0 and DJ Judge Jules! Kids will be entertained with cooking lessons, crafting and fairground rides making it a fun family day out, and dogs are welcome too.

 Tomorrow: The Royal Lancers - Freedom of Nottingham Parade

Having recently returned from several operations, The Royal Lancers (Queen Elizabeths' Own) will exercise their freedom of the town of Nottingham. Taking place in the heartland of their recruiting area, the parade follows time-old tradition whereby regiments of the British Army are granted ‘freedom of the city' to mark their return from operations.
To mark the occasion, on Armed Forces Day the Regiment will conduct a formal parade in No. 2 Dress with lances through the centre of Nottingham. Following a service at St Mary's Church, the military contingent will muster on High Pavement at 11.40am and march to Old Market Square.
Members of the public are welcome to watch the parade at any point along the route.
Please note: to facilitate the parade there will be a number of road closures between 11am-12.30pm in the city centre and diversions will be in place. NET Tram, Nottingham City Transport and trentbarton will have some disrupted services during this time.

Run 5.30 is the early morning phenomenon that only participants see and hear! Join hundreds of others walking or running the 5K (ish) route that includes the newly developed Broad Marsh area, the Lace Market, views of Nottingham Castle and a return to the finish along the Canal tow path.
There are no start and finish lines, no times, just people enjoying the early morning light and a city that has yet to wake up. The event raises funds and awareness for Maggie's Nottingham, with £1 of every entry going back to the charity.
Entry includes a unique t-shirt, medal, souvenir magazine and a fresh fruit breakfast.

The Hucknall Tourist and Regeneration Group welcomes you to a day of family fun in Byron’s name. There will be performances from children's entertainer Gavin Radforth, Hucknall Ukulele Group, regency dance group Bonnets and Breeches, and Rock Choir.
The Rother Valley Newfoundland Dog group will be offering cart rides and water saving demonstrations in the Garden Lake. Lord Byron was rescued by his favourite dog Boatswain in the same way! There will also be activities, stalls, and garden games to take part in.
