Tomorrow: The Royal Lancers - Freedom of Nottingham Parade

Royal Lancers

Sat 28 June
City Centre

Having recently returned from several operations, The Royal Lancers (Queen Elizabeths' Own) will exercise their freedom of the town of Nottingham. Taking place in the heartland of their recruiting area, the parade follows time-old tradition whereby regiments of the British Army are granted ‘freedom of the city' to mark their return from operations.

To mark the occasion, on Armed Forces Day the Regiment will conduct a formal parade in No. 2 Dress with lances through the centre of Nottingham. Following a service at St Mary's Church, the military contingent will muster on High Pavement at 11.40am and march to Old Market Square.

Members of the public are welcome to watch the parade at any point along the route.

Please note: to facilitate the parade there will be a number of road closures between 11am-12.30pm in the city centre and diversions will be in place. NET Tram, Nottingham City Transport and trentbarton will have some disrupted services during this time.
