** No Laughing Matter: Ireland AM makes light of abortion

On Tuesday, Ireland AM presenters Muireann O’Connell and Tommy Bowe joked and laughed about the abortion issue on their morning show with studio guest, comedian Katie Boyle, who talked about her abortion experience in the US and how she’s using comedy to “break the stigma” surrounding the issue.

For a media outlet that routinely covers just one side of the abortion issue and ignores the voices of women who regret their abortions, Virgin Media no doubt sees it as the next logical step to joke and laugh about the issue. Unsurprisingly, the presenters never bothered to question the historical inaccuracies spread on the programme about Saint Brigid.

Regardless of how much they try to sanitise what happens in an abortion and make it out to be no big deal, the simple truth remains that every abortion ends the life of a unique and innocent unborn baby, and carries with it unbelievable heartbreak and remorse for many women.

With over 60,000 abortions performed in Ireland since the law changed in 2019 (when the 2024 figures are also included), it’s certainly no laughing matter. Behind those numbers are devastating stories, like the woman known to many of us in the pro-life movement who underwent a late-term abortion, heard her baby cry before he died, and has been unable to return to work ever since due to the trauma.

No matter how much Virgin Media might like to pretend otherwise, this is the true, stark undeniable reality of legalised abortion.

Congresswoman Kat Cammack


** Pro-life congresswoman’s office evacuated after repeated death threats

US congresswoman Kat Cammack shared on social media on Wednesday that her office had to be evacuated after repeated death threats, made against her, her family and staff.

Representative Cammack from Florida says the latest wave of threats against her safety follow an interview she did with the Wall Street Journal where she shared her very personal story of having an ectopic pregnancy last year, including the treatment she received and the misinformation and “fearmongering” being spread by pro-abortion groups regarding how cases like this are dealt with in a post-Roe United States.

Following the 2022 overturning of Roe v. Wade by the Supreme Court in the Dobbs ruling, there has been a massive surge in violent incidents - including arson - targeting pro-life pregnancy centres and individuals across the United States.

25% of babies in Alberta survive late-term abortions and are left to die

The Canadian Institutes for Health Information has disclosed that 133 late-term abortions happened in the province of Alberta in the twelve month period up to the end of 2024. 33 of the unborn babies survived the abortion and were left to die - which is 25% of all the late- term abortions that occurred.

According to a report on the Live Action website, the most common gestational age of the babies that survived was between 21 and 24 weeks. The piece also correctly pointed out that abortion advocates have consistently insisted that abortion survivors are a “myth,” despite the evidence to the contrary.
