Dear John,

June is National Immigrant Heritage Month. It’s also been 13 years since the DACA program began!

DACA enabled nearly one million immigrants to build a stable life for ourselves, our loved ones, and our communities in our own terms and pursue a career in all kinds of fields—education, law, healthcare, entrepreneurship, among many others. And yet, 13 years later, we are experiencing attempts to reverse and erase efforts for a just and thriving future that our communities fought so hard for, by way of the Stonewall Uprising in 1969 or today’s local residents resisting against ICE raids.

We’ve waited far too long for a working immigration system where families can be together and every person gets to live with dignity and respect. As we traverse through today’s rocky terrains, with our fears, worries, hopes, and determination close to our hearts, I am here to remind you: you are not alone.

I invite you to join Home Is Here’s DACA Community Call on Wednesday, July 2 at 4 p.m. PT / 7 p.m. ET and learn more about what’s next for DACA, especially for directly impacted recipients in Texas and nationwide. Visit our Beyond DACA page to explore additional resources and options you may have.

This is an especially important and difficult time for us, but we will get through it together. For immediate resources and to learn what you can do to support undocumented immigrants in this moment, read our list on the Immigrants Rising website.

Update on Immigrants Rising

On June 10, 2025, Immigrants Rising received a letter from the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Homeland Security, falsely accusing us and more than 200 other nonprofit organizations nationwide of using federal funding to support undocumented immigrants and “facilitate illegal immigration.” Read more about this letter and what we’re doing about it.
