John, I firmly believe that we as Americans have more in common than what separates us. That belief is central to my work in Congress: working across the aisle to address the real problems facing families in Southwest Washington – not the manufactured crises and petty political fights that extremist politicians try to distract us with.

The road to Election Day won’t be simple. WA-03 has been rated as a “toss-up” race that will decide control of the House next year. The NRCC named me as a top target to defeat, and far-right Super PACs are already running misleading attack ads against me, including a new $250,000 buy announced just last week.

So, we know that all eyes will be on the fundraising totals we report after our next FEC deadline. We need to raise at least another $30,000 before midnight on Monday in order to prove this grassroots team still has what it takes to win again. Are you with me?
