Hey -- Last week, a member of Iowa’s congressional delegation was incredibly cruel and disrespectful to survivors of sexual assault. Rep. Steve King asked if there would be “any population left” without rape and incest. His rhetoric and his disdain for decency is a far cry from the Iowa I know and love. I’ve heard people say that King represents our values as a state simply because Iowans elected him.

But Iowans also elected me -- and we’re SO much better than this.

Every seat in Iowa is up for re-election in 2020, and these races are not about who’s a Democrat or Republican -- they’re about restoring decency and they’ll come down to who and how we want to represent our state.

But right now, national Republicans are actively organizing across the state and especially against me. We know they will do just about ANYTHING to win this seat back, and my seat is vulnerable, but I’m committed to continuing my service to the people of my district.

If you believe we need leaders in Washington to truly represent Iowans and our shared values, then I need you to help me fight for decency.
