John,
In a closed-door meeting with Senate Republicans, Mitch McConnell tried to downplay concerns about his party's plan to gut Medicaid in their so-called "Big Beautiful Bill" by saying people back home would just "get over it."
Get over it?!
Republicans are pushing a plan that will strip MILLIONS of their health care, and McConnell thinks we'll just move on?
Tell that to the patient who can't afford life-saving treatment or the mom who can't get her child in to see a doctor. Tell that to every family terrified about what happens next!
And here's the thing, John: McConnell and all the Republicans know their plan to steal health care from millions to give tax breaks to billionaires is toxic, but they're moving forward because they think voters are too stupid to hold them accountable.
But I've got news for them: We are not getting over it.
House Democrats and I will be doing everything we can to stop their "big, beautiful abomination," but we're up against the full force of the GOP donor machine, and right now, we're staring down a major FEC fundraising deadline next Monday.
Can I count on you to chip in today and send a message Mitch McConnell and every last Republican will hear loud and clear that we will not get over their cruelty and are preparing to hold them accountable in 2026? [[link removed]]

Growing up in Fort Worth’s historic Como neighborhood, I used to dream about opportunities that would allow me a chance to experience things that filled my imagination; about American heroes and fascinating places in our country. I dreamed that I could one day make a difference in the lives of my friends and neighbors. It was that simple goal that eventually led me to Washington and the halls of Congress.
For over a decade, I have been humbled by the ongoing support and encouragement of the community that raised me. Today, I’m asking for it again.
