Today, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that people with Medicaid coverage can't sue to protect their right to choose their preferred health care provider, meaning South Carolinians who rely on Medicaid may effectively no longer be able to go to Planned Parenthood health centers in South Carolina for care.

This ruling may embolden other states to target Planned Parenthood and patients’ rights. And you can bet that we will fight back, no matter what.

We need you with us. Right now, all gifts up to a total of $500,000 will be matched to protect reproductive rights and care nationwide.

The Supreme Court just ruled against patients' rights, deciding that people with Medicaid coverage can't sue to defend their right to see the provider of their choice.

In today's Medina v. Planned Parenthood South Atlantic decision, the Supreme Court effectively allowed the basic freedom to see a preferred health care provider to be stripped away. The ruling could open the door to similar attacks on patients and Planned Parenthood health centers in other states.
The damage from this ruling will be severe — and we need your help to respond to this emergency.

Right now, all gifts up to a total of $500,000 will be matched.

Once again, the Supreme Court empowered lawmakers to impose their personal beliefs on everyone else. This decision erodes our rights, harms patients, and could embolden other states to target Planned Parenthood health centers across the country.

South Carolinians who rely on Medicaid may ultimately no longer be able to go to Planned Parenthood health centers in South Carolina for birth control, preventive check-ups, cancer screenings, and STI testing and treatment.

Health care isn't just under threat in South Carolina. Because of "defunding" efforts in Congress, more than a million people are at risk of losing access to quality, affordable care at Planned Parenthood health centers.

When you make your emergency gift today to support Planned Parenthood, your contribution will go twice as far. Please, act quickly — all gifts will be doubled until June 30, up to a total of $500,000.

One in three women and one in four people have been to a Planned Parenthood health center. Patients have relied on Planned Parenthood for years because they know they can get excellent care from a provider who truly welcomes them.

Excluding Planned Parenthood from Medicaid will only make it harder for people to afford basic health care and see a provider at all.

You should have the freedom to choose health care that is best for you — not the government. Now, the Supreme Court has given states another opportunity to join the race to the bottom.

The threat to care just got a whole lot worse, but with your help, Planned Parenthood will keep fighting for patients' rights to affordable, quality care. Will you power our response with a matched gift today?

Thank you for your continued support — we are proud to have you with us in this difficult moment.
