Like many families with a new baby, I’m on a waitlist for childcare. And like so many families, I balance my work AND being a parent. But once again, the so-called “pro-family” Republican Party has shown its true colors.

Right-wing commentator Matt Walsh is furious that I — a woman, a mother, and a member of Congress — dared to do my job, and care for my newborn at the same time:

News flash: Moms can do two things at once. Women belong in Congress. And we don’t need permission from Matt Walsh — or any other man — to show up and fight for what’s right.

So no Matt, I will not “go home.” Not when your Republican allies are doing everything in their power to take food and health care away from the kids and families who need it most.

And if I’m being honest, I know this won’t be the last smear against me and my family. The far-right is gearing up to attack me and ANYONE who dares to call out their backwards agenda. That’s why I need to ask:
