Preparing for 2025’s Hurricane Season
Hurricane season is fast approaching, and this year is forecasted to be one of the most active yet. Hurricanes wreak havoc on communities and affect children in many ways: destroying homes, shuttering schools and damaging key resources. We’ve compiled safety tips to help protect your children amid disasters.
Hamza*, a 10-month-old baby in Syria, fell ill with malnutrition at just 4 months old. His mother struggled to provide him with basic nutrition. When Save the Children started treating Hamza’s malnutrition, he quickly started improving – but now, funding cuts are slashing access to critical clinics that help children like Hamza recover from severe hunger.
In Mexico, 11-year-old Wilberth has been participating in community health clubs supported by Save the Children. Through these programs, Wilberth created a “health bracelet” that represents the daily portions kids should eat to maintain a healthy diet.
Save the Children is delivering relief after tornadoes devastated the Midwest
From West Virginia to Kentucky to Oklahoma, recent tornadoes have left a trail of destruction, robbing children of a safe space to learn and causing emotional distress. Our teams provide lifesaving emergency services with a special focus on children to ensure they can recover and enjoy their childhood.
In honor of Play it Forward and International Day of Play, Mattel retail stores in El Segundo, San Bernardino, Dallas/Fort Worth and East Aurora (Fisher-Price) are inviting customers to donate at checkout to support Save the Children until June 30, 2025. Celebrating 80 years of Mattel and 20 years of partnership with Save the Children, this collaboration underscores Mattel’s commitment to empowering the next generation through purposeful play. Backed by the belief that play builds vital emotional, social and cognitive skills, Mattel’s “Play it Forward” platform has grown from a single Global Day of Play in 2018 to a year-round global movement. Hear from Nancy Molenda, Mattel’s VP of Global Corporate Events & Philanthropy, as she shares why play matters now more than ever.
