Her reaction reminded me why this matters—especially now.

Hi Friend,
I thought of this note again today—it’s a powerful reminder of how much your support means! I hope you'll read it.
As we rush to get backpacks ready for our Operation Backpack® drive, summer heat and hardships are rising. And your gift will help us respond to real-time needs, too—from water, to cooling shelters—for families struggling without the basics.
Thanks again for reading—and for being someone who truly shows up for families. ~ Tanisha |

Just a quick note—because I can’t stop thinking about the story of a mom at one of our VOA Operation Backpack® events.
She stood quietly, her shy little grade schooler holding her hand tightly. When we handed Mom a filled backpack, she smiled with relief.ne mom even found herself in tears—she never expected so much emotion over a backpack.
This is what your kindness and other supporters' make possible—not just backpacks, but compassion and care that show up in many ways. Right now, our VOA teams are filling backpacks across the country—and also providing food, housing support and a helping hand to families struggling through the summer.
If you haven’t had a chance to give yet to our VOA lifesaving efforts, like Operation Backpack®, it’s not too late. |
Together we can show up for many more families in need right now—with support they can feel before summer’s even over. With gratitude, |
