Friend,
We did it! Zohran Mamdani won the democratic primary for NYC mayor. It can’t be said enough – this is an incredible victory for our movement and has shifted what is politically possible in New York and beyond.
I’m so proud of the work NYCC members and staff did to see this victory through.
Last fall, we listened to Zohran’s platform in a crowded, diverse room filled with members from NYCC, CAAAV Voice, and DRUM Beats. We heard a vision for New York that could unify working-class people across ethnicity, language, and neighborhoods.
Even back then, we knew this moment was possible- and we got to work organizing.
But the work isn’t over and we need your help now. We can bring Zohran’s win home in the general election and deliver a city we can afford but we’ll need the resources to sustain our organizing. Can you help us keep the drum beat going for Zohran in our neighborhoods by making a contribution?
A rent freeze, fast and free buses, and free childcare – this is the uncompromising platform Zohran ran on because it delivers for working people, not the billionaires.
This platform – and Zohran’s rising popularity – terrified the billionaire class. Cuomo’s billionaire-backed super PAC spent an unprecedented $25 million trying to buy this election with a bombardment of racist attack ads, but it wasn’t enough to stop the grassroots momentum for Zohran’s campaign.
That momentum skyrocketed when Zohran and Brad Lander cross-endorsed each other, and we’re so proud to have supported both their campaigns in our ranked slate.
By working together to take on the political establishment, Zohran and Brad showed a new kind of politics that working-class people want in this moment.
A politics of unity, collaboration, and joy.
A politics guided by principles that can’t be bought.
A politics where our communities can dream bigger than we have before – and win it all.
We’re all in on Zohran’s vision for the future of our city and our amazing members will be leading the charge for his campaign in their neighborhoods and boroughs.
If you believe in the power of working-class people, now is the time to support the grassroots organizing that will win this election. Will you contribute $15 or any amount you can to see this victory in November?
In solidarity, hope, and unity,
Olivia Leirer
