Here’s a round-up of what they’ve been up to, and what it means for you:
Holding the Line on War Powers:
Representative Jim Himes, with the full backing of the entire CT Delegation, is pushing a War Powers Resolution in response to recent U.S. strikes on Iran. This resolution would require congressional approval before any military escalation, because decisions about war belong in Congress, not the Oval Office.
Calling BS:
Senator Chris Murphy isn’t letting Republicans gaslight Americans into another never-ending war, and he’s pushing back on Speaker Johnson’s claims that strikes against Iran were necessary. “I was in the same briefing…I’ve been briefed on the intelligence. There is no evidence Iran posed an imminent threat to the United States. That makes this attack illegal.”
Showing Up:
In Hartford alone, 10,000 people showed up at the No Kings protest, joined by Sen. Richard Blumenthal, Rep. John Larson, and Lt. Gov. Susan Bysiewicz, who emphasized that democracy thrives only when the people are in charge.
And here's the remarkable part: research shows it takes just 3.5% of the population mobilizing to create lasting change.
Connecticut is building that movement—and you're powering it.
We stand firm on principle. While others shout, we deliver. While others divide, we build. But sustaining this momentum requires sustained support.
Can you chip in $100, $50, $25, $15, or even $5 today? Your contribution powers the movement that makes Connecticut a beacon for the rest of America.
