John,

Congress is racing to pass a dangerous provision that would ban your state from protecting you against AI discrimination - for 10 years.

Right now, the Senate is preparing to vote on a massive budget bill that includes a provision preventing states from regulating artificial intelligence. This isn't just about technology, it's about your rights.

If this passes, your state leaders won’t be able to stop companies from using AI systems that:
* Wrongfully arrest Black people through faulty facial recognition;
* Deny mortgages to qualified Black applicants;
* Screen out Black job candidates before a human ever sees their resume; and
* Charge higher prices in Black neighborhoods through algorithmic pricing.

Even worse: Senate Republicans rewrote the bill to force states to choose — either protect residents from harmful AI or receive federal broadband funding for rural and underserved Black communities.

It’s a false and unjust choice. We shouldn’t have to pick between safe technology and essential access.

But here’s the good news: This provision is vulnerable — and your voice can help stop it.
Some senators are already speaking out. We need a few more to tip the scales.
Your Senator needs to hear from you TODAY.

When you call, say: “I urge you to oppose the 10-year ban on state AI regulation in the reconciliation bill. States must retain the right to protect their residents from discriminatory AI systems.”

The vote could happen as soon as next week. Every call matters in this fight.
