John, In Minnesota, we protect the rights of LGBTQ+ people—we don’t take them away. And as long as I’m Governor, every Minnesotan will be free to be exactly who they are and love who they love. It’s an honor to serve as Grand Marshal for the 2025 Minnesota Pride Parade this weekend. I couldn’t be more proud to march alongside LGBTQ+ Minnesotans from every region of the state. This moment takes me back to a promise I made nearly 30 years ago, long before I held elected office. I was a teacher at Mankato West High School when a group of students came to me with concerns about anti-LGBTQ+ bullying. They asked for help starting our school’s first Gay-Straight Alliance. My answer: Absolutely. We’ve come a long way since then—and we’ll celebrate that progress this weekend. But Pride also serves as a sobering reminder that our work isn’t finished. There are still those who want to turn back the clock. My promise: I won’t back down until everyone—regardless of who they are or who they love—can live freely and equally. Happy Pride, Tim Walz
