Atlantic Puffin.
Atlantic Puffin.
Nesting along the rocky edges of the North Atlantic, the Atlantic Puffin draws bird lovers to the coasts of Maine and Canada each summer. Though once nearly extinct in the region, puffins made a remarkable comeback thanks to decades of conservation work led by Audubon. Today, however, their future is once again uncertain. As warming seas push their prey farther from shore, puffins face a growing web of threats—from overfishing and marine debris to oil spills—that put their hard-won recovery at risk.

Birds can’t ask for your help. So we’re asking for them: Will you start your annual gift today while your first gift will be matched, thanks to a group of generous donors?
Audubon 120 years.
For 120 years, Audubon has protected birds and the places they need—through community-powered conservation and bold advocacy at every level. In 1973, Stephen Kress founded Project Puffin, pioneering methods that restored nesting colonies of the charismatic seabird to Maine. Today scientists use these techniques with seabird species at sites around the globe. Our Seabird Institute now continues the legacy of Project Puffin, combining authoritative seabird science with policy and advocacy leadership.

This work, and all of our work on behalf of birds, is only possible with the steadfast support of caring bird lovers like you. So please, make your annual donation right away, while your first gift will be matched, up to $75,000, for birds and their habitats.

Sincerely,

National Audubon Society
