Iowans in the legislature and Governor Reynolds were able to set themselves apart from the division elsewhere in the country by working together on law enforcement reforms in the wake of George Floyd’s murder. House File 2647 brings additional accountability to Iowa’s law enforcement officers by creating stronger restrictions on the use of chokeholds.

We are working on some of these policies at the federal level as well, with the Just and Unifying Solutions to Invigorate Communities Everywhere or JUSTICE Act that both Senator Ernst and I are cosponsoring
