Dear John,

June is one of my favorite months of the year. The heat is setting in (maybe a little too much here in New York City!), it’s my birthday month, and it’s Pride.

Pride provides a powerful reminder: resistance is necessary, resistance is joyful, and resistance is best done in community.

This reminder feels particularly urgent right now, as we face rising state-sanctioned violence, attacks on our freedoms, and an onslaught of inhumane laws. At a time when powerful forces are working to divide us, it’s more important than ever to remember that our struggles are interconnected—and that our liberation is bound together.

All month, we’ve seen people coming together to preserve democracy and make their voices heard, whether that be by protesting, parading, or voting. When we’re in community, when we show up as one, our power grows substantially. Let’s keep showing up for each other.

In solidarity,

Grantee Partner Spotlight: A Family Affair Living Our Best Life

In the rural South, A Family Affair Living Our Best Life is supporting HIV+ Black women by creating community and dismantling stigma.

Their name is reflective of the reality that if one person is living with this disease, it affects the whole family, so they work to meet the emotional, physical, and spiritual needs of those impacted.

Learn about their life-changing advocacy work in our latest grantee partner spotlight.

Invite: Ms. on Martha’s

We’re so excited to return to Martha’s Vineyard for our annual Ms. on Martha’s event!

This year, Ms. Foundation President and CEO Teresa C. Younger will be joined by Hali Lee, founder of the Asian Women’s Giving Circle and the Donors of Color Network and recent author of The Big We, for a conversation on the role each person plays in meeting this moment and driving our collective impact. Join us at Grange Hall in West Tisbury on August 19 at 5PM for light bites, drinks, and the opportunity to build power alongside like-minded feminists. Register now!

Your support, your power makes twice the difference

We’re facing daily threats to equity, freedom, and democracy. Voices silenced. Funding slashed. Dangerous public policies enacted. These actions are determined to make us lose hope and keep us from speaking out for equity and justice.

When you give now, your contribution will be MATCHED dollar-for-dollar up to $50,000. Together, we’re empowering women and gender-expansive people across the country who are leading, inspiring, and growing grassroots efforts that are standing strong against those who would take away our freedom, bodily autonomy, and reproductive rights.
