It’s about building something bigger than politics as usual

Scholten for Iowa

John:

I'm reaching out to you not as a politician, but as an Iowan—someone who's lived the same stories, faced the same challenges, and dreamed the same dreams as you.

And I'm in this race because I believe deeply that our government should work for the people who keep this state running — not the ones writing six-figure checks from behind closed doors.

I’m the son of teachers who grew up on family farms. I’ve spent most of my life in Sioux City, rode long bus rides to away games, and pitched in ballparks all around the world. That Iowa upbringing shaped me — and it’s the same perspective I’ll bring to the Senate.

I don’t come from money. I don’t have a political dynasty behind me. But I do know how to show up, how to listen, and how to fight.

Let me be clear: this isn’t just about ideas. It’s about action. And this campaign needs to show real strength before the FEC filing deadline on Monday.

It’s our first public report since our campaign launched — and how we show up will set the tone for this race. This is our chance to show we’re not a vanity campaign or a protest run — we’re building a real, viable movement that can go the distance.
