Washington, D.C. (June 25, 2025) -Today, Jessica Vaughan, Director of Policy Studies at the Center for Immigration Studies, testified before the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration Integrity, Security, and Enforcement at a hearing titled "Restoring Integrity and Security to the Visa Process."
Vaughan's testimony focused on the national security, fraud, and enforcement vulnerabilities in the current U.S. visa system and offered specific recommendations for Congressional action to help strengthen oversight and improve screening protocols and limit fraud vulnerabilities on an extensive list of visa programs.
“Our visa system should serve the national interest, but instead it has become a target for exploitation by bad actors,” Vaughan said. “Congress must act to ensure that visa programs are used for their intended purposes and not as a backdoor for those who intend to take advantage or to harm our country.”
