White-breasted Nuthatch.
A code-red crisis is unfolding before our very eyes: Since 1970, we’ve lost three billion birds—one in every four—and the latest data from the 2025 State of the Birds report shows these declines are continuing across all habitats. 112 bird species are at a “Tipping Point,” having lost 50% or more of their populations in the past 50 years, and they will need focused efforts to recover.
We must flock together to bring birds back before it’s too late. And there’s no better opportunity to help than now, as we celebrate our 120th anniversary. Will you join us with an annual gift today? Thanks to a group of generous donors, your first gift will be MATCHED 2X up to $75,000 for birds in need. ([link removed])
[Audubon 120 years.] ([link removed])
Birds are already suffering from the climate crisis—and the impacts will worsen unless we reduce emissions and protect critical habitats. But hope lies in action, and we have 120 years of practical, effective solutions. In 1923, we established the Theodore Roosevelt Sanctuary on Long Island, New York, followed by Louisiana's Rainey Sanctuary in 1924. These two pioneering refuges sparked a movement that has grown into 27 sanctuaries across the nation. Today, as Audubon celebrates 120 years of conservation, places like Florida's Corkscrew Swamp stand as living monuments to our mission, protecting some of the last towering bald cypress trees that have witnessed centuries of history.
Our impact is measurable, and your support makes it possible. But we can—and must—do more while we can still make a difference. So please, join us with an annual donation right away while your first gift will go twice as far for birds and their habitats. ([link removed])
