AFSCME members have been traveling to Washington to sound the alarm on the budget bill that will slash health care and food assistance to pay for billionaire tax breaks. They’ve been warning what these cuts would mean: longer waits in the ER, fewer care providers, and even hospital closures. And it won’t just hurt people on Medicaid. It will mean higher costs for everyone.

Without this funding, our ability to negotiate strong contracts with safe working conditions and even our jobs could be on the line.

The Senate will be voting on the bill soon, and every senator needs to hear where working people stand.
