John,
If I decide to run against billionaire Republican Pete Ricketts for the U.S. Senate here in Nebraska, he is going to attack me on day one.
Pete Ricketts is a literal billionaire. His daddy bought him a baseball team and stadium – the Chicago Cubs – before buying him the Nebraska governorship and now our U.S. Senate seat.
It’s not a question of if Ricketts attacks me on day one… It’s how many tens of millions of dollars he and his daddy decide to spend.
When I ran against Republican Deb Fischer in 2024, we got 47% of the vote in one of the closest Senate races in the country. And the first poll shows Pete Ricketts and I would start in a virtual tie – 46% to 45% – for 2026.
I’m ready for this fight – to win and replace a billionaire in the U.S. Senate with a blue-collar mechanic. But I am only going to do this and put my family through another run if folks like you are going to provide the financial support to win and flip Nebraska’s Senate seat.
