Friends,
Juneteenth is a day of profound weight and power -- the day when, in 1865, two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed, the last enslaved people were given notice of their freedom.
Its very existence tells us so much about the soul of America. Its awful capacity to be poisoned and corrupted, and its incredible capacity to heal, to hope, to liberate -- to be born anew.
In 1921, 35 city blocks of Tulsa, Oklahoma burned to the ground, as an army of white men decimated a booming business community known as Black Wall Street.
But we often do not learn of Juneteenth or about Black Wall Street -- and we must do more to tell the truth about our country's history to ensure we do not repeat it.
That's why today I'm writing to encourage you to support the Black Wall Street Remembrance Fund. To ensure that the residents of Tulsa and people around the world will never forget.
If you're able today, will you make a contribution to the Tulsa Community Foundation's Black Wall Street Remembrance Fund?

Juneteenth reminds us both of the long, hard night -- and of the brighter morning to come.
There is no question that the night feels endless right now. Exhausting. Heartbreaking. Impossible to endure.
But we must never stop building, marching, speaking, voting, organizing, protesting, and fighting -- until the promise of our nation is fulfilled.
Thank you,
Joe Biden----
