John,
There’s a lot going on right now. Too much.
I get it if you’d rather tune it out. Really, I do. But please, let me try and remind you why we have to stay in the fight.
After Gabby was shot, it wasn’t easy. We didn’t know if she would make it, if she would ever talk or walk again.
But her doctors, nurses, and therapists never gave up on her.
In the months and years afterwards, the recovery was hard. It was tough on Gabby. But she never gave up, and I wasn’t going to give up, either.
We kept going. We didn’t quit. We didn’t back down.
It’s hard to see the path forward, sometimes. But with the help of your friends and family, you find a way. For Gabby and I, this team has always been a part of that. Knowing that we have people like you in our corner has given us a lot of hope in difficult moments.
That support has meant the world to me. And it has shown me that together, we can do really big things.
I’ve spent my entire life serving this country, and I’m not about to stop now. I’m going to keep standing up, doing what I think is right — you can be sure of that.
But I can’t do this work alone.

It truly means so much to have you on this team.
Thanks for sticking with me.
Hang tough,
Mark
