I do. That’s why I introduced the GUARD Act.
This bill gives the president clear authority to deploy the National Guard when states like California refuse to cooperate with federal immigration enforcement. It also imposes tough penalties on anyone who assaults or kills an immigration officer, including life in prison or the death penalty when an officer is killed.
After ICE conducted a lawful raid in Los Angeles, violent protests erupted. President Trump deployed the National Guard to restore order. Gavin Newsom in California tried to block it with a lawsuit, but the courts sided with the Guard.
That shouldn’t even be a question. But in today’s political climate, it is.
The GUARD Act ensures we don’t let sanctuary city mayors or partisan governors block efforts to protect our communities. It puts public safety first and sends a clear message: immigration law is not optional.
I’ll keep fighting to defend the rule of law and keep you informed every step of the way.
I am honored to represent you as your Congressman in DC,
