Another long week ahead, another flight back to DC from the west, John.

This past week was a hard one, I won’t lie.

From the assault on a Senator rightfully demanding answers from this administration’s Secretary of Homeland Security, to the heartbreaking assassination of Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, it’s easy to fall into despair under the weight of this moment.

I flew back to D.C. with a heavy heart but clear eyes and ready to take on the challenges ahead. We have to keep up the fight for what’s right, protect our communities, and keep our hope in this democracy alive.
