Sisters and Brothers,
It's that time again!
Our UFCW grocery workers in Southern California are deep in their negotiations for a fair contract. They are fighting issues of short staffing, unsafe working conditions and wages that haven't kept up to inflation.
Our unions have taken successful strike authorization votes and the California Federation of Labor Unions, AFL-CIO, has granted strike sanction to seven United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) locals in the SoCal region representing 45,000 grocery workers at Ralphs, Albertsons, Vons and Pavilions.
We are hopeful this can be settled at the bargaining table, but our UFCW brothers and sisters continue to engage in public actions designed to bring attention to their struggle with these corporations. Let's have their back!
You can find out more information about upcoming actions on our website.
Stay tuned, and we’ll keep you posted as more information becomes available.
In Solidarity,
Lorena Gonzalez
