SNAP: New FRAC Resources on SNAP Cuts
Senate Republicans have introduced a reconciliation bill with deep cuts to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) similar to the House’s proposal. A new blog from the Food Resource Action Center (FRAC) details the impacts of the Senate’s proposals if passed. Additionally, a new chart now on the FRAC site provides a comparison of the House and Senate proposals and current law.

Legislation: PIF Statement on the HEAL for Immigrant Families Act
United States Representative Pramila Jayapal (WA-07) and Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) have reintroduced legislation that would improve the health of millions in immigrant families through the Health Equity and Access under Law (HEAL) for Immigrant Families Act. The Act would reverse a 1996 law that denies lawfully present immigrants access to Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program for their first five years in the U.S. Read our statement via the link below..
