Happy Pride Month!
Los Angeles has a proud history of uplifting our LGBTQIA+ friends, family, and community. Our city has led the way for years in providing a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for everyone — regardless of who you love.
While our LGBTQIA+ neighbors — particularly those in our community with intersectional marginalized identities — face hate and discrimination, we will never stop working to ensure that Los Angeles is the most diverse and welcoming city in the world.
That’s why, last year, I signed a historic ordinance to fly the Pride flag over City Hall to make sure that our message to the rest of the country and world is as clear as possible: Los Angeles accepts our LGBTQIA+ community with open arms.
Now more than ever, we must stand together for our shared values of compassion, respect, and belonging for everyone in our city.
The LGBTQIA+ community will always be welcome, heard, and respected in Los Angeles. This month and every month, let’s fight to uphold that commitment.
Thank you and Happy Pride!
