Dear Friend,
We’re in crunch time! As we speak, a swarm of moms, kids, and babies dressed in bee costumes are up on Capitol Hill creating an impossible-to-ignore buzz and telling our U.S. Senators that the Republican budget and tax bill is a BEEtrayal to our families and economy.
Time is short. We are expecting Republican leadership in the Senate to force through their terrible, awful, harmful budget bill by this weekend, which is why we need you to take a few seconds to sign our letter ASAP telling all Senators to vote NO!
Since the vote is likely happening in a couple days, we are planning to deliver this letter tomorrow and we want to make sure your signature is included!
Check out below for more details on why this bill is terrible for our families, kids, communities, and economy. And don’t forget to sign our letter – and pass it on to friends and family so they can sign too! The more of us who raise our voices, the bigger the impact we have together.
Thank you,
-Elyssa and the entire MomsRising/MamasConPoder team

Dear Friend,
Senate Republicans are full steam ahead on their version of the Big Betrayal Bill and planning to push their bill through by the end of the next week….unless the moms of America show up and stop them!
Here’s the moment where we make our voices heard!
Here’s what’s going on: Senate Republican Leadership is trying to cram through their version of the Big Betrayal Budget and Tax Bill by the end of next week. But they are already encountering some serious road blocks because our message that this bill is awful is finally getting through, especially to moderate Republicans. [1]
We’re still getting details of what is in the Senate-version of the bill, but from what we already know, it: a) Still directly cuts our health care and nutrition assistance in order to fund tax cuts for billionaires and Trump’s toxic immigration policies, and, b) Differs only slightly from what House Republicans passed a few weeks ago–this bill if it were to become law would still be horrible for our families, communities, and economy.
Our families, communities, and economy are still losing out in this bill in the following ways:
Senator Ron Wyden from Oregon called this bill’s priorities “caviar over children” and we believe that is spot on! [5] Senate Republicans’ priorities are right there in the open: They are funding family separation, human rights abuses, and tax cuts for billionaires like Elon Musk by taking away our health care, child care, K-12 education, and nutrition assistance.
The letter we are sending your U.S. Senators next week says the following:
“Dear Senator,
The proposed Republican tax and budget bill harms our children, families, communities, schools, and economy. This is why I am urging you to vote “NO”!
Slashing funding for Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act, nutrition assistance (including SNAP), K-12 education, Planned Parenthood, and child and elder care does nothing to lower costs for families, assist our struggling economy, or help parents work in order to support their family. It is all the more egregious to do this in order to give even more tax cuts to the super wealthy and large corporations.
We need you to choose families and our economy over billionaires and funding for human rights abuses. Our nation needs a safe and orderly immigration process that balances compassion and security, not cuts to healthcare and not cruelty.
Vote “no” on this bill.”
Don’t forget to sign our letter and then forward this email to all your friends and family! It’s going to take all of our voices to stop this bill from becoming law!
Thank you,
Elyssa, Kristin, Felicia, Donna, Hanna, and the whole MomsRising.org & MamásConPoder Team
