Zohran Mamdani topples Andrew Cuomo in NYC mayoral race

House Democrat Jim Clyburn and Bill Clinton came out to try to stop him, and all failed. It's by far the biggest win for the American left since AOC won her primary, and hopefully it opens the door not only for better lives for New Yorkers but also a Democratic political landscape where democratic socialist policies are finally recognized as electorally viable. Zohran will face New York's corrupt, Trump-aligned current mayor Eric Adams and PerennialRepublican crackpot Curtis Silwa in the general election, barring a Cuomo run as an independent — but these numbers do not bode well for such a foolishly selfish indulgence.

ICE arrested a pregnant Tennessee woman — while in detention in Louisiana, she had a stillbirth while shackled
Iris Dayana Monterroso-Lemus missed a court hearing and was picked up by ICE — and immediately found herself in a living nightmare. Iris was shuffled around the country to a slew of ICE concentration camps starting in Illinois, then back to Tennessee, then to Alabama, and finally to the notorious Richwood Correctional Center in Louisiana, which is notorious for its abuse and poor conditions. She soon found the stories were terrifyingly true. Four months pregnant, she was denied any prenatal medical care in every facility and was fed food "so poor that many detainees would throw it away rather than eat it. She described spaghetti served with tube-shaped ground beef and even cockroaches." Wracked with insomnia, anxiety, and poor diet, it wasn't long before she could tell something was very wrong with her pregnancy. She begged the doctors to take her to the hospital, but they dismissed her concerns, telling her the pain was normal because the baby was growing. She was finally admitted to the hospital, where she was forced to endure the horror of giving birth to a dead child while shackled at the ankles with two federal guards staring at her. And that is how women are treated in Donald Trump's pro-life America.
