These are the facts: Life sentences now account for one in every six people in U.S. prisons—a record high despite near-record-low crime. Even more staggering, the U.S. holds 40% of the world’s life-sentenced population despite making up just 4% of the global population.

These aren’t just numbers and statistics. These are lives put on hold. 

But here’s a number that represents hope: $25,000 for the 2025 Annual Fund.  Your support will help fight for sentencing reform, advocate for second chances, and push for policies that bring people home - before decades are lost.
