John,
We’ll keep this short. Jim asked the team to follow up with our top supporters, and be sure you saw the email he sent below.
With the rioting and looting, Chicago is badly damaged, and Jim has pledged help from our team to his good friend Pastor Brooks.
John, we have a real opportunity to help these 100 families and Pastor Brooks, but we can’t do it without you.
Will you join us at the Woodman’s Market in Carpentersville, North Aurora and Lakemoor at 8 am on Saturday June 20th to help these families?
Anything you can do would be greatly appreciated. Jim is counting on everyone to help.

Dear John,
The rioting and looting in Chicago have done more than just damage buildings. There are real people hurting because the rioters burned down their grocery stores and pharmacies and these families cannot get the food and medicine they need.
It is important for us as Americans to help our neighbors, not just with strong words, but with swift and beneficial action. I am asking you to help these families in a meaningful way. I am working with Pastor Corey Brooks in Englewood to give 100 families of four enough food for two days. That’s breakfast, lunch, and dinner for two days. We can’t help everyone, but we can help 100 families in Pastor Brooks’ community.
These families desperately need our help and more importantly, they need to know that there are people who care about them and what they are going through. This is why I am asking you to join me in feeding these families and showing them that we see their suffering and are willing to step up to help.
The game plan is simple:
- Buy non-perishable food for a family of four to eat three meals for two days.
- Write a handwritten note of encouragement to include in your care package.
- Drive to the Woodman’s Market locations in Carpentersville, North Aurora or Lakemoor at 8 AM on Saturday, June 20th to donate your care package.
(You can purchase groceries at Woodman’s or from any store of your choice prior to 8 AM on June 20th).
If time is short and your part of this journey must end here, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. But, if you can go a little further, please join us as we leave Woodman’s parking lots by 8:30 AM and head down to Pastor Brooks’ church in Englewood to deliver the care packages in person. All safety precautions will be followed. We will stay inside of our vehicles and volunteers will assist in gathering the care packages.
Thank you for your help and support with this important project. I hope you can join us in working together to make a difference in the lives of our fellow citizens.
