A groundbreaking new law going into effect in Texas requires processed food companies to take over 40 risky chemicals out of their products (including Artificial Dyes and Titanium Dioxide) within the next 1½ years…
Otherwise, they’ll be labeled unfit for human consumption...
“WARNING: This product contains an ingredient that is not recommended for human consumption by the appropriate authority in Australia, Canada, the European Union, or the United Kingdom.”
As you can imagine, food companies will do whatever they can to avoid that warning label...
So it's likely they'll reformulate their products without these ingredients, based on what they've already done in other countries.
Texas is the second largest economy in the United States, and it would be a logistical nightmare for food companies to reformulate products just for Texas. This is why they're expected to do it for every state, so every American is benefiting from this legislation.
A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to meet with Texas Governor Abbott and state legislators to make the case for why Americans need to know the truth about their food and how important this legislation could be for the health of this country.
I'm so grateful that the Governor agrees and officially signed the Make Texas Healthy Again Bill (SB 25) into law this week.

The list of over 40 chemicals includes many that the Food Babe Army has campaigned to get removed from our food including Yellow 5 and 6, Red 40, Blue 1, BHT, and Titanium Dioxide!
To illustrate how monumental this is:
Thousands of popular products lining grocery store shelves will be labeled unfit for human consumption if they don't start making changes right now...

Stove Top Stuffing with Interesterified Soybean Oil, BHA, and BHT
Kellogg's Rice Krispies Treats made with Acetylated Monoglycerides, DATEM, and BHT
Post Fruity Pebbles Cereal full of Artificial Dyes, BHT, and BHA
Mission Tortillas made with Bleached Flour and Interesterified Soybean Oil
McCormick Food Dyes filled with Propylparaben, Red 40 and Blue 1
Kellogg's Pop Tarts frosted with Titanium Dioxide

This marks the beginning of the end of American food companies using ingredients they don't use in other countries.
Our cries have been heard!! We deserve the same healthier ingredients that other countries get.
