It’s been three years since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade—and changed life for millions of women across America, undermining their health, dignity, and freedom.
Since the Dobbs decision issued three years ago today, nearly one-third of all women of reproductive age now live in states that have banned abortion. In Texas, we’ve seen some of the most extreme restrictions enacted—restrictions that put women’s lives, health, and futures at risk.
We’ve heard heartbreaking stories of women facing life-threatening pregnancies, only to be denied care or turned away entirely. We’ve heard stories of women who cannot get care when having miscarriages, which are all too common. We’ve heard stories of women sent to wait at home or in the parking lot until they are closer to dying so that they can get care. These are not isolated incidents—they are the direct and devastating consequences of cruel abortion bans.
Doctors and healthcare providers in Texas and 18 other states that have banned abortion are working in stressful environments where state laws create fear and uncertainty and threats of losing their medical licenses or going to jail for providing health care are all too real. Hospitals are delaying emergency care while legal teams review the cases.
We know that in states like Texas, fewer doctors are being trained. And pregnant women are facing greater risks than they have in decades.
Instead of working to fix this crisis, the Trump administration is making it worse. The agenda we’re seeing play out—in state legislatures, in courts, and in Congress—is exactly what extremists, politicians, and special interest groups set out to achieve: to take away reproductive freedom, to undermine women’s autonomy, and to insert politics into the most personal, private decisions a person can make.
But I believe—as the vast majority of Texans and Americans do—that these decisions belong to patients and their doctors, not politicians.
This work is so important—and it’s why I’m asking for your support today. We can elect pro-choice leaders in Texas and across the country. But we can’t do it without resources. It will take all of us, working together, to deliver the message to voters and show them what we are fighting for: freedom.
If you’re in a position to give, please consider making a contribution to our effort today.
In 2026, we have a chance to take back the House majority. And retaking the House is essential to protecting our rights, safeguarding our democracy, and ensuring that future generations of Americans have more freedom, not less.
These last three years have brought so many challenges, in Texas and beyond. But I continue to be inspired every day by the courage, passion, and determination of so many people in our community and across our country who refuse to give up. I’ve seen what we can do when we work together.
Together, we can do anything,
