Dana* is one of five girls who play on the soccer team in a displacement camp in Northeast Syria. The team was brought together at a Save the Children child-friendly space.

This program allows kids to be kids even in the most difficult situations – war, disaster, displacement – and learn skills like managing stress, solving problems and building positive relationships.

Dana witnessed many atrocities while living through conflict in Iraq – killing, bombing, destruction and hunger. These events took a toll on her mental health.

At our child-friendly space, she found joy again by playing football. Her future dream: Play a game in a big stadium with thousands of people watching.

John, all children deserve to dream about a brighter tomorrow, especially those facing unimaginable hardships. That’s why a generous group of donors has agreed to 2X match every gift made before June 30th, up to $75,000.*

As we reckon with the reality of aid cuts, your TRIPLED gift can help ensure vital support continues to reach the children who need it most.

When Save the Children responds to emergencies, we work to meet children’s most urgent needs, providing food, water, shelter and medical care. We also focus on restoring a sense of normalcy, to provide a place where kids can play, learn, grow and just be kids. Then, we help put communities on the path to long-term recovery.

In Gaza, we helped 1-year-old Maram* get the nutrition she needed after her family struggled to find food amid conflict.

In Sri Lanka, we established a Village Disaster Management Committee in 10-year-old Shamila’s* village to help the community prepare for, respond to and recover from frequent flooding.

In Egypt, we helped 12-year-old Nadia return to school after being forced to drop out due to her family’s financial hardships.

But we can’t do this work alone, John. Funding for programs that help children around the world survive and thrive has been cut. Now, we must do all we can to continue the vital support Save the Children provides.

Thank you,

The Save the Children team

A generous group of donors has donated to a matching gift fund to inspire more donors like you to support our work, and every dollar you donate will unlock $2 from this pool for the first $75,000 in donations until midnight on June 30, 2025. Monthly gifts will be matched for the first monthly installment only. If we meet our match goal prior to receiving your one-time or monthly donation, your donation will not be matched but will still go to support our programs.
