Justice Democrats

John,

Democratic Party leaders and gatekeepers continue to self-sabotage and fail to learn from their mistakes.

Just look at Welcomefest, the tone-deaf corporate conference which Politico called the “moderate Democrats’ Coachella.”

While Donald Trump and the MAGA crowd rapidly move our country closer to fascism, corporate stooges of Congress gathered to commiserate over the 2024 election and double down on their insistence to attack progressive candidates and marginalized groups instead of the very billionaire donors and corporate Super PACs that brought us a Republican trifecta—and funded “Welcomefest.”

Then, take a look at what’s happening in New York City. Once a young Democratic socialist candidate started surging in the polls for mayor — with the promise of actually energizing disaffected and disillusioned voters — billionaires, super PACs, and old-guard Democrats such as Bill Clinton, George Latimer, and Rep. Jim Clyburn came out of the woodwork to support disgraced, corrupt former Governor Andrew Cuomo.

What does it say that the Democratic establishment would rather support a candidate accused of sexual misconduct by 13 women than a promising progressive like Zohran Mamdani?

Zohran — a candidate that could serve as the solution to so many of the Democratic Party’s woes — is served to the political establishment on a silver platter, and instead of harnessing that energy, they unite to oppose a better future for everyday people on behalf of their corporate donors.

When candidates are brave and actually offer solutions that improve the lives of working people while standing up to the political establishment, billionaires, and their Super PACs, we can go up against even the greatest odds and the most entrenched career politicians.

The Democratic Party needs to wake up, clean house, and let the next generation of young, working-class progressives lead the way if we’re going to give voters a party to believe in and start winning elections again.

As for our work in Congress – if any Democrat is unwilling to change and meet the moment, then they should get the hell out of the way or face a potential primary challenge come 2026.

Justice Democrats is actively recruiting candidates — like state representative Donavan McKinney in Michigan’s 13th district — to run against out-of-touch, do-nothing Democrats and reshape the Party in Congress. If you’re with us, pitch in $5 or whatever you can to directly support our work →
